A zebroid (also zebra mule and zebrule) is the offspring of any cross between a zebra and any other equine: essentially, a zebra hybrid. In most cases, the sire is a zebra stallion. Offspring of a donkey sire and zebra mare, called a zebra hinny, do exist but are rare. Zebroids have been bred since the 19th century. The zebroid showed in the picture above, Eclyse, is a very unusual one, because of her coloring.

The liger is a hybrid cross between a male Panthera leo (lion), and a female Panthera tigris (Tiger) and is denoted scientifically as Panthera tigris × Panthera leo. A liger resembles a giant lion with diffused stripes. They are the largest cats in the world, although the Siberian Tiger is the largest pure sub-species. Like tigers, but unlike lions, ligers enjoy swimming. A similar hybrid, the offspring of a male tiger and a female lion is called a tigon. Also, Liger's can reach up on an average of 900 pounds.

What do you get when you cross a cow with a buffalo? The Beefalo, a hybrid animal that produces red meat lower in fat and cholesterol than beef. Most consumers have never heard of beefalo, let alone tasted it, and only a few Seattle grocery stores carry it.
How does a buffalo burger compare to a beef one? "It has a richer flavor and it's milder and sweeter than beef," says Ellensburg beefalo breeder Mark Merril, "and more juicy."

The Savannah Cat is created by breeding an African Wild Cat, called a Serval and a domestic cat, usually an exotic looking domestic cat such as a Bengal, Oriental Shorthair, Egyptian Mau, or a Serengeti's. The offspring created by this combination are large domestic. I have read an article in Cat Fancy magazine about the Savannah Cat (I really dislike Cat and Dog Fancy, but anyways), the people who buy these cats say they are real friendly at first but then they get more aggressive as time goes on. These cats are HUGE! It showed a picture of a Savannah Cat next to a child and the child was small next to the cat. I really disagree with this breeding, but that is my own personal opinion. They are very expensive, more than $1,000 a piece.

here is where Darwin's theory becomes weak. Where is the missing link showing where feline, and the bovine split, or any other. I have yet to see an example of a fossil that was an immediate precursor of the current major classification of mammals.
1Gee - Monique - i do agree with you - re: cats and dogs - oy that is really a ticking bomb!
2those animals are pretty-not sure that I would want to eat a beefalo!
3pretty but not sure I want to mess with the originals just for entertainment sake.

Very pretty and unique.
5Liger.. .
6angelbaby, I doubt you would even notice the diference, and would accept that the steak was just a diffent "cut" of beef.
7This reminds me of a creative place in San Francisco called Tommy's Joint which boasted a million types of beers an unusual decor and also a buffalo stew. One afternoon I ate it without knowing what it was and have loved it ever since. Beefalo is even better, although the animals look strange to me.
